Our nation was built by immigrants who came to this country to find opportunity and achieve the American Dream. We have a long and proud history of welcoming those from around the world who are in need of assistance and are seeking a better life, and we must ensure we have a fair immigration system that prioritizes our national security, supports our economy, and upholds our values. As a strong support for comprehensive immigration reform, I believe we must ease the pathway to citizenship for DACA recipients and Dreamers, update our antiquated visa lottery structure, end family separations and travel bans, and above all, treat immigrants with dignity regardless of their documented status.
